Soccer: DiGrazio’s extra netter lifts Springfield past Harriton

Scarlett DiGrazio and Kaylin Silberstein teamed up on a set piece late in overtime to give Springfield a 1-0 victory over Harriton in Central League girls soccer action Thursday.

Silberstein set a perfect pass to DiGrazio on a corner with three minutes left in the extra session and DiGrazio drilled the ball out of the air for the winner. Goalie Alyssa Estep only had to make two saves thanks to a strong defensive effort by the Cougars’ defense.

Elsewhere In the Central League:

Strath Haven 2, Garnet Valley 0 >> Marin Faggioli collected one goal and one assist for the Panthers. Faggioli fed Marley Feinberg in the eighth minute and converted a pass from Julia Steere in the 65th minute.

Lower Merion 1, Radnor 0 >> Madison Lynn had a strong game in goal for the Raptors.

In the Inter-Ac League:

Springside Chestnut Hill 1, Episcopal Academy 0 >> Lisa McIntyre scored off an assist from Julia Thomson in overtime to win it for SCHA.

Goalie Maya Naimoli made a season-high 10 saves for the Churchwomen.

In the Catholic League:

Cardinal O’Hara 2, Little Flower 1 >> Maura Kane and Lauren Moore provided the offense with one goal each and Ava Hneleski made eight saves in goal for the Lions.

Boys Soccer

Trevor Bartholdi tallied four times and Domenic Nardini netted three goals as Chichester rolled over Penn Wood, 10-1, in the Del Val League. Mazen Sayed pitched in with two goals for the Eagles.

Farouk Grabamassi scored for the Patriots.

In the Central League

Strath Haven 2, Garnet Valley 1 >> George Pezzzeca’s goal late in the second half was the difference for the Panthers. David Hagan also scored, while Nick Digrazio and Andrew Deppen had assists. Will Hall made six saves to get the win.
