Monmouth County boys soccer for Sept. 28: Neptune wins; Colts Neck prevails in OT

Colts Neck 5, Manasquan 4

Kyle Moore led the way for Colts Neck with a hat trick as it scored an overtime goal to take home a 5-4 victory over Manasquan in Manasquan.

Colts Neck (5-1-1) led heading into halftime but Manasquan (4-4) was able to score three goals in the second half. Matt Karolak finished with one goal and two assists.

Jiro Chira scored two goals for Colts Neck.

Rumson-Fair Haven 4, Red Bank Catholic 0

Alec Pentikis scored three goals as Rumson-Fair Haven earned a shutout victory over Red Bank Catholic 4-0 in Red Bank.

Pentikis scored two of the three goals in the second half while Antonio Santos added the other. Cole Herman made four saves in net to preserve the shutout for Rumson (5-2-1).

The Bulldogs were aggressive all afternoon as they outshot Red Bank Catholic 24-6. The Caseys fell to 0-8 with the loss.

Neptune 3, St. John Vianney 0

Kervins Lafortune scored two goals as Neptune used a big second half to cruise to a 3-0 victory over St. John Vianney in Neptune.

Both teams entered halftime scoreless but Neptune (6-2) was ready to breakout. Jack Tinik added a goal while Kevin O’Neill made seven saves.

Matthew Brana made 12 saves for St. John Vianney (2-6-2) while the offense could not find the back of the net on nine shots on goal.

Howell 5, Freehold Borough 0

Bryce Ocholla scored one goal in each half as Howell cruised to a 5-0 victory over Freehold Borough in Howell.

Howell (6-2) put the game away early with four goals in the first half. Freehold Borough (1-8) was unable to get anything going offensively.

JP Candela finished with one goal and two assists while Nicholas Spisak added a goal.

Raritan 5, Monmouth 3

Andrew Badalamenti scored two goals and dished out two assists as Raritan held on for a 5-3 victory over Monmouth in Monmouth.

Raritan (5-3) got on the board early as Badalamenti and Lupo Ryder scored first half goals.

Anthony Cano finished with one goal and one assist as Monmouth (3-5-1) scored the next three goals to take the lead. Lucas Hutnik tied the game at three before Badalamenti’s second goal of the game proved to be the winner.

Raritan outshot Monmouth 17-12 over the course of the game.

Matawan 2, Ocean Township 1

Jared McMeans made four stops in net as Matawan held on for a 2-1 victory over Ocean Township in Matawan.

Matawan (3-3-1) finished with seven shots on goal compared to four from Ocean Township (4-3-1).

Aaron Kalish and Nico Skeete found the back of the net for Matawan. Alexander Korolev scored the lone goal of the game for Ocean Township.

Middletown South 2, Middletown North 1

Alex Soto scored one goal to help Middletown South edge Middletown North 1-0 in Middletown.

All goals were scored in the first half as the Eagles (4-3-1) outshot Middletown North (4-4) by two.

Ryan Barnao scored the only goal of the game for the Lions while CJ Crolius was credited with the assist.

Long Branch 3, Red Bank Regional 2

Jeremy Hernandez scored an overtime goal to give Long Branch a 3-2 victory over Red Bank Regional in Long Branch.

Chris Lopez and Anthony Vasquez scored in the first half to give Long Branch (4-2-1) a lead heading into halftime. Carlos Guerra led the way in the second half with a goal as Red Bank Regional (0-6) fought its way back.

Hernandez scored in the third minute of overtime to earn the victory.
