Bergen County girls soccer for Sept. 28: Rutherford, New Milford, Fair Lawn get wins

Sophomores Poppie Bimson and Fiona Waller each had a goal to help lift Rutherford to a 2-0 win over Lyndhurst in Rutherford.

Junior Ellie Schmitt chipped in with an assist for Rutherford (4-2-1), which won its third straight match. Freshman keeper Victoria Silvestri made seven saves.

Junior goalie Mackenzie Sibello finished with five saves for Lyndhurst (4-4-1), which outshot Rutherford 10-8.

New Milford 4, Cresskill 1

Sophomore Elona Bekdas had two goals while senior Abby Petrolia and freshman Natalia Lombardi each added a goal and an assist as New Milford stopped Cresskill 4-1 in New Milford.

Senior Alyson Rosner and junior Elizabeth Adelung chipped in with an assist apiece for New Milford (5-3), which won its third straight game. Junior Elise Brevil finished with four saves.

Cresskill fell to 3-5.

Fair Lawn 1, Lakeland 0

Junior Gianna Barone’s second-half goal was enough to seal a 1-0 win for Fair Lawn over Lakeland in Fair Lawn.

Junior Makenzie Davis assisted on Barone’s goal for Fair Lawn (4-5). Sophomore goalie Blair Pasarkar had three saves.

Senior keeper Frankie Medici put up eight saves for Lakeland (5-3).

Pascack Hills 3, Indian Hills 0

Senior Reece Benisatto had a goal and an assist while sophomores Emily Rennie and Sophie Pinkwater scored a goal apiece as Pascack Hills shut out Indian Hills 3-0 in Montvale.

Juniors Leila Murillo and Brooke Bonanno had an assist each for Pascack Hills (5-2), which won its fourth straight match. Brianna Arendacs finished with six saves.

Indian Hills fell to 1-7.

Northern Highlands 5, Paramus 1

Sophomore Lyla Geller had a goal and two assists and senior Neha Anvar had two assists as Northern Highlands topped Paramus 5-1 in Allendale.

Sophomores Meghan Buchanan and Ava Andicoechea, junior Alana Arjona and senior Savannah Cosgriff each scored for Northern Highlands (5-3). Senior goalie Mia Langan had six saves and junior Natalie Gonzalez had two.

Junior Ava Merlino had a goal for Paramus (3-3) while junior keeper Himani Patel finished with nine saves and senior Katherine Moceri had four.

River Dell 3, Mahwah 0

Senior Brianna Azevedo had a goal and an assist while seniors Isabella Bagnato and Isabelle Schneider scored a goal apiece as River Dell blanked Mahwah 3-0 in Mahwah.

Seniors Lizzy Puentes and Mia Acierno and junior Tess Tauchert had an assist each for River Dell (6-2), which got its fifth shutout of the season. Sophomore Kasey Ziegler finished with five saves.

Mahwah fell to 3-3-1.

Dwight-Morrow 4, Dumont 0

Senior Camila Quinchia produced a hat trick to lead Dwight-Morrow to a 4-0 win over Dumont in Dumont.

Sophomore Salome Chica scored as well for Dwight-Morrow (4-4-1) while sophomore Sarah Gomez chipped in with two assists and junior Natalia Wesoloski had one. Senior goalie Sophia Gomez made five saves.

Dumont fell to 0-6.

Lodi Immaculate 3, Becton 1

Freshman Jacqueline Karcic had two goals as Lodi Immaculate got past Becton 3-1 in Lodi.

Junior Alyse Oviedo scored as well while sophomore Ava Muniz had an assist for Lodi Immaculate (4-2). Sophomore goalie Amelia Brueggemeier finished with 14 saves.

Becton fell to 4-3.

Old Tappan 0, Demarest 0

Old Tappan and Demarest finished in a goalless draw in Demarest.

Old Tappan (5-1-1) is coming off its first loss of the season after opening the season with five straight wins.

Demarest (2-5-1) snapped a two-game losing streak with the tie.

Holy Angels 2, Paramus Catholic 0

Freshman Lilyanna Potts finished with two goals to help lift Holy Angels to a 2-0 win, their first of the season, over Paramus Catholic in Paramus.

Sophomores Gina Certo and Sienna Morreale both assisted on Potts’ goals for Holy Angels (1-6).

Senior goalie Mairead Tamayne finished with six saves for Paramus Catholic (5-3).

Ramsey 6, Westwood 0

Senior Amanda Mack and junior Nina Davis each had a goal and an assist to lead Ramsey to a 6-0 win over Westwood in Ramsey.

Sophomores Sophia Dallara and Natalia Kull, senior Diane Blacido and junior Alexia Friedland each had a goal for Ramsey (8-0), which has given up one goal in its last eight matches. Junior Sarah Telfian got two assists while senior Lilly Dinning and Uma Corcoran combined for five saves in goal.

Westwood fell to 3-4-1.

Hasbrouck Heights 8, Garfield 0

Junior Sophia Lara produced a hat trick while junior Maya Bohan added two goals and an assist as Hasbrouck Heights overpowered Garfield 8-0 in Garfield.

Seniors Dea Jera and Jenna O’Malley and freshman Madison Lahullier each had a goal for Hasbrouck Heights (6-2). Senior Alexa Garcia put up three assists and sophomore Nina Castellano had two.

Garfield fell to 1-5.

Emerson Boro 4, Midland Park 0

Freshman Ally Palladino had two goals to help pace Emerson Boro to a 4-0 win over Midland Park in Emerson.

Senior Victoria Sterinsky added a goal and two assists while senior Bobbi Morton scored as well for Emerson Boro (3-3).

Midland Park fell to 1-7.

Passaic Tech 1, Bergen Tech 0, OT

Sophomore Gia Pierro scored the matchwinner in overtime to lead Passaic Tech to a 1-0 win over Bergen Tech in Hackensack.

Senior Gina Pelosi assisted on Pierro’s goal for Passaic Tech (6-1). Junior goalie Katherine Gronda finished with eight saves.

Junior keeper Madelyn Bello made 13 saves for Bergen Tech (3-3-1).

Pascack Valley 7, Teaneck 1

Junior Amanda Polyniak had two goals and an assist while senior Julia Conjour had a goal and two assists as Pascack Valley stopped Teaneck 7-1 in Teaneck.

Ella Saxon, Tori Criscuolo, Allie Polyniak and Vanessa Rack each scored for Pascack Valley (6-3).

Junior Demi Owens scored for Teaneck (2-5) while Liora Pelavin Pelavin made eight saves.
